How to remove stuck bit in Ryobi Impact, which will not come out.

First, you will have to find the flat spot on the bit holder

In the above photo you can see the flat spot. Next to the flat spot is a spring wire clip.

Push on the end of the clip until the other end is halfway between the flat spot.

Next, if you have a knife with this tool or a similar style tool it will work great.

Insert tool between clip at the flat spot, block the other end of the clip with a screwdriver so clip cannot spin in the grove.

Once you have the clip blocked, and the tool behind the clip as shown in the picture.

If you have the tool just like the picture, you are going to start turning to the left.

Keep tool against the shaft, continue turning all the way around the shaft until clip pops free of grove.

If you, do it right, it will remove the clip from the grove with ease.

Remove rest of parts

Next remove the washer and spring under the clip, they just lift out.

Before you remove the last piece, the outside casing, place the impact over a tray or large container.

Because when you remove this casing two small ball bearings will drop out and you may lose them.

This is what you should have removed.

As a result of the bearings being out you can use the two holes they came out of.

Use a small screwdriver in the holes to try and pry the bit out.

When the bit is not stuck to bad, this will work..

If it refuses to move, grip the bit tight with vise grips. Tap the vise grips away from the impact, the bit should come out.
