Remove Candle Wax Fireplace
To remove candle wax fireplace can be a challenge if soaked into the mortar joints.
This fireplace has cement mortar joints, and the wax has penetrated deep into the cement joint.

Remove Candle Wax Fireplace
Step 1
Place a rag over the wax and apply warm heat not hot.
Flat surfaces you can use an iron, which will not work here.
The joints are too deep, use a hair dryer.
Rub the handle of a screwdriver or similar item over the rag while heating.
Keep turning the rag as it absorbs the melting wax.
Continue this method until no more wax transfers to the rag.
Second step
Because the candle wax is deep into the cement it will not all come out with heating alone.
You can try Alcohol, Acetone, Nail Polish remover, these should help.
Apply the solution to the area with the wax and blot, the area with a clean rag (Do not wipe).
Continue until you get no more wax coming off.
How to remove the left-over candle wax residue
There will be left-over residue in the cement after the first two steps.
This is what to do since a mortar mix will not stick to wax.
First, apply a watered-down pre-mix cement patching paste and let it dry.
Do not try to finish the job with the pre-mix products they will dry lighter.

Then wire brush it off with a toothbrush size wire brush.
This will remove the rest of the wax.
Final Step
Mix regular Portland Cement into a heavy cement wash (not heavy like mortar mix).
With joints this close you may want to use an old toothbrush to apply as a paint brush is too soft.
The Portland Cement color when dry will be close to the existing joint color.
As it ages it will blend further to match the already aged existing joints.
